BIS Discussion paper on Executive Remuneration – September 2011

BIS Discussion paper published on 19 September 2011 seeking views on issues relating to executive remuneration and in particular focussing on tackling excessive executive pay with proposals aimed at:

  • Greater transparency so that what people are paid is clear and easily understood;
  • More shareholder power such as the introduction of binding votes, to allow shareholders to hold companies to account;
  • More diverse boards and remuneration committees to tackle the status quo; and
  • Best practice led by the business and investor community.
