The Share Plan Lawyers is an informal group of lawyers in law firms advising on UK legal and tax aspects of executive and employee share plans.

Founded in 1986, our aims are to provide:

  • A forum for exchanging views and experiences on legal issues affecting employee share plans.
  • Training for lawyers at all levels practising in the area.
  • A voice for lobbying on behalf of our members and their clients, on issues affecting employee share plans.

Members of Share Plan Lawyers benefit from:

  • Access to training for all levels of experience, many of them are free to attend.
  • A coordinated channel through which to contribute to responses to regulatory developments.
  • Access to notes prepared by SPL, other shared know-how and recordings from many of the training events. These are kept in the Resources section of this website.
  • Opportunities to socialize and network with other members.
